Bringing in a breath of
fresh air to the Chennai music scenario is band Padhai’s
new album ‘Ranam Sugam’.
The band is now back with their second album in a new format that can very well surprise music aficionados. The band has the credit of combining two great hobbies of man – books and music- to give something unique to the audience. Ranam Sugam is a music novelette, a genre that combines music and novel to tell a story to the audience.
This new concept lets the listener’s imagination fly! The album comes as a
package with a CD and a book. Precisely, you read the novel and listen to the pertaining song from the CD alongside. It adds up to something like having somebody compose songs for your novels at the right situations. Ranam Sugam features the story of a couple who are a part of a band which competes in a reality show.
The album boasts of some great tunes and even greater text. The album clearly spells love all they way. It is a
breezy love story that could have happened in anybody’s life. This way, they have nailed their target audience pretty much in place.
Keeping in mind that this could very well be attributed as
one of a kind in the market, we ask Shammeer (Author, Ranam Sugam) what they want to convey to their listeners. He says, we want give the listeners a new experience. It’s like running a movie in your mind. Pictures have been provided at the end of the book for people who have difficulty in imagining the characters.
